Oregon beat Idaho on Saturday 15-3 at Houghton Stadium in six innings.
Oregon scored seven runs in the sixth on on a single by Barrett Bevacqua, a walk by Jackson Farr, a walk by Kaden Segel, and a home run by Cooper Shaw.
Spencer Scott reached base four times in the game for Oregon’s Wilshire-Riverside LL. He scored one run and had two RBIs. He homered in the first inning and singled in the second inning.
Segel recorded the win for Oregon. He allowed three runs over five innings. Segel struck out two, walked none and gave up six hits.
Ben Ford was charged with the loss. He pitched three innings, striking out five and allowing four runs.
Oregon never trailed after scoring two runs in the first on a solo home run by Scott.
Wilshire-Riverside LL added two more runs in the top of the second. Segel’s single got things going, bringing home Kyle Oslund. That was followed up by Scott’s single, plating Stuhr.
Two runs in the bottom of the fourth helped Idaho’s West Valley LL close its deficit to 4-3.
Oregon tacked on another four runs in the fifth. Christopher (Chris) Schuver started the inning with a single, bringing home Dylan MacLean.
Wilshire-Riverside Little League finished the 2015 Little League Baseball Northwest Region Tournament with a 4-0 record. Throughout the tournament, the team outscored opponents 48-18. The Northwest Region Champion will face off against the Southwest Region Champion in the first round of the Little League Baseball World Series on Thursday, Aug. 20, at 3 p.m., at Lamade Stadium. The Southwest Region Championship was won by Pearland West Little League from Pearland, Texas. For more information on the Southwest Region Tournament, click here.
