In a continued effort to provide parents, volunteers, and league officials with a clear explanation and understanding of the official regulations, playing rules, and operating policies, Little League® has launched a brand-new Rulebook App, now available for FREE in the Apple and Google Play App Stores.
Learn More About the Rulebook App
The decision to launch the app came after feedback received from a local league volunteers and parents survey in November 2018. The survey, which saw nearly 2,500 responses, shared that more than 60% of respondents were looking for a searchable rulebook or rulebook app as the number one request for future development projects.
“Little League International strives to take the input we receive from our volunteers at the local level and put that in feedback into action,” said Liz DiLullo Brown, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. “With a number of unique features and capabilities exclusively built into this new app, our volunteers will now be able to more efficiently understand and communicate the rules and regulations of our program while remaining informed about any changes or updates that are made throughout the year.”
Volunteers will be provided with access to all three rulebooks (Baseball, Softball, and Challenger) and updates to the rulebooks will be sent directly to the app each year so the volunteer does not have to update their app each season.
Some of the key features that will be included within the app include:
- Access to all three Little League Rulebooks
- Search Functionality with Filtering Options
- Bookmarking Capabilities to Save Content
- Rule Interpretation Videos
- Offline Sync (Content Available without Wi-Fi or Data Connections)
- Approved Rulings
- Annual Significant Changes Page
- Push Notifications with Changes/Updates
- Frequently Asked Questions
- Spanish and French Translation Downloads
As part of the new rulebook app, volunteers can also learn about the significant rule and regulation updates that were approved at the fall meeting of the Little League International Board of Directors on November 8, 2019. Moving forward, any rule changes that are made, including those made following the Regional Roundtables and Little League International Congress events, will be communicated and automatically updated directly through the rulebook app to volunteers.
Once downloading the rulebook app, volunteers can also rate and review the app to assist Little League staff members in further development and provide feedback on items they’d like to see improved.
