2021 Tournament Enrollment and Early Round Support FAQs

Little League International is committed to supporting our local leagues throughout the tournament process. Local leagues will be able to enroll their tournament teams and utilize the online Affidavit System through the Data Center, as in previous years. As the two divisions of play that are culminating in a World Series tournament, the only divisions the tournament entry fee of $200 will apply is at the Little League Baseball and Little League Softball divisions, which, as always, will be directed to a restricted fund to help offset tournament mileage reimbursement, as well as travel expenses for those teams who have the opportunity to compete at the World Series events.

The other divisions of tournament (8- to 10-Year-Old, 9- to 11-Year-Old, Intermediate Division Baseball, Junior League Baseball, Junior League Softball, Senior League Baseball, and Senior League Softball) that will be concluding at the state level will not be assessed with the tournament entry fee. As there is no tournament entry fee for these divisions of play, teams participating at these divisions are not eligible for tournament mileage reimbursement.

Leagues participating in the Little League International Tournament at all levels will have the support of the Regional offices and Little League International Tournament Committee for protests and tournament issues, as needed.

Additional resources, education, and support will be available throughout May to support league and district volunteers in navigating this year’s tournament administration.

Enrollment for all divisions of play will be available starting in early May. Little League International will notify all leagues when enrollment is open.

Yes. Leagues can announce their tournament teams on May 15. As a reminder, players must be eligible before teams can be announced. Make sure you review the updates to the tournament player eligibility requirements that are new for this season. 

First and foremost, each league and district should adhere to the guidelines set forth by their respective state and local government and health officials in terms of public gatherings, organized youth sports, and sporting events when determining how and when to return to Little League activities. Leagues should contact their state and local health authority and other municipalities for guidance prior to resuming any Little League activities. Districts and leagues are also encouraged to use the Best Practices on Organizing, Playing, and Watching Little League Baseball and Softball During the Coronavirus Pandemic in its tournament execution.

Little League International strongly encourages districts and leagues to endeavor to hold their tournaments in a healthy, responsible environments. Adult volunteers are urged to be vaccinated prior to the start of their tournament. Little League International does not require that these additional measures be taken in regards to vaccinations, testing, and mitigation at these earlier levels of tournament play.

First and foremost, umpires should adhere to the guidelines set forth by their respective state and local government and health officials. Little League strongly encourages tournament umpires to receive their final dose of their vaccine at least two weeks prior to the start of their tournament event. Umpires are also encouraged to follow appropriate mitigation efforts, as outlined in the Best Practices on Organizing, Playing, and Watching Little League Baseball and Softball During the Coronavirus Pandemic.

For district, sectional, and state-level tournaments, any participant (player, coach, volunteer, etc.) who tests positive for COVID-19 should follow their state and/or local guidelines for isolation and contact tracing. Should a team need to miss a scheduled game due to those requirements, they should contact their appropriate Region staff.
